MARIONETTA 2023
From 21 to 26 March 2023, Busto Arsizio hosted UNIMA Italia’s World Puppetry Day, a week dedicated to puppetry and its many forms.
Celebrated internationally since 2003 on the initiative of the Union Internationale de la Marionnette, World Puppetry Day is an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and celebrate puppetry as an art form capable of bringing together tradition and contemporary practice, craftsmanship, artistic research and poetry.
For the 2023 edition, Ecateatro APS collaborated in organising the event in Busto Arsizio together with UNIMA Italia, L’Arca di Noè APS, Giorgio Rizzi and Roberto Scala.
From 21 to 26 March 2023, venues across the city hosted performances, workshops, meetings, discussions and other events, bringing together artists, theatre companies, UNIMA members, schools and audiences.
The event also provided an opportunity to build connections among professionals in the field and introduce different audiences to the richness of puppetry, transforming Busto Arsizio for several days into a meeting place for UNIMA’s national community.
